In public spaces, posted signs and placards inform us, direct us, and focus our awareness. Now, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many signs exist to assure us as well.
The virus itself is not something we can visualize. But we can certainly see the impacts it has had on everyone when we are in public spaces. We see temperature screenings at entrances, increased use of face coverings, transparent shields between customers and workers, markers to help people keep six feet apart, added hand hygiene stations, and more. These are just a few of the visible ways we become assured that people are taking steps to minimize the spread of the virus.
Cleaning and sanitization are likewise critical to combating the virus, but these efforts aren’t always visible or readily apparent. One way to demonstrate your efforts in these areas is to use visuals to call attention to how—and how frequently—your spaces and facilities are cleaned or disinfected.
“Frequent disinfection of surfaces and objects touched by multiple people is important,” CDC guidance states. “Frequently touched surfaces and objects like light switches and doorknobs will need to be cleaned and then disinfected further to reduce the risk of germs on surfaces and objects.”
Communicating with people visually that these essential steps are being taken assures us in a time when many people are experiencing uncertainty. Signs, stickers, checklists, apps—there are many ways to show people the extra steps you’re taking to keep spaces and surfaces clean.
The vital role that software plays
Your team now has a software tool to track its cleaning and sanitization efforts. This tool enables monitoring not only of what to clean, but how often—and to document the completion of this work. Such documentation is usually required for compliance and demonstrates to your employees and customers that you are committed to creating the safest environment possible. Streamlining your recordkeeping and workflows means you have more time to focus on diligently cleaning and sanitizing facilities.
CleanMaint, built by the award-winning eMaint, is the premier SaaS custodial management software. Together, these save time, expand capacity, and help assure others that you are taking the necessary steps to combat this pandemic.
